Lucky and the Journey Within
Inspired by Susan Patron's novel: The Higher Power of Lucky
Lucky Trimble had always been fascinated by the idea of a higher power. Ever since she overheard the townsfolk talk about it, she had been filled with curiosity. So, one day, Lucky decided to search for a higher power of her own.
Every morning, as the sun rose over the tiny town of Hard Pan, California, Lucky began her quest. She searched high and low, in places where she thought a higher power could reside. She climbed the craggy hills, explored the dense forests and even dared to cross the caliginous, eerie graveyard that lay on the outskirts of the town. But despite her relentless efforts, she couldn't find a higher power anywhere.
One afternoon, as Lucky sat under the shade of an old sycamore tree, she spotted Brigitte, her French guardian. Brigitte was sitting at a distance, her eyes closed, a peaceful smile playing on her lips. Lucky approached her and found Brigitte in such deep tranquility that she felt an inexplicable force embracing her. Brigitte explained that she was meditating, connecting with a higher power within her.
This concept intrigued Lucky. Could it be that the higher power she was searching for was not a tangible thing or a place, but a feeling or state of mind? Was it possible that the higher power lay within her own self?
Guided by Brigitte, Lucky embarked on a journey to explore her inner world. She began practicing meditation and noticed a change. She felt calmer, more focused, and more connected to herself and the world around her. Most importantly, she found a higher power within her - an invisible force that guided her, protected her, and gave her strength.
Lucky's quest for a higher power had led her to a treasure trove of wisdom. She found a higher power not in the hills or the forests, but within her own self. This realization brought her peace, happiness, and a newfound perspective on life.
The townsfolk saw a change in Lucky. They saw her transform from a curious, restless girl into a wise, calm, and understanding young woman. Lucky became an inspiration for everyone in Hard Pan, proving that the higher power one seeks is not far away but within oneself.
