Their goal was to unravel the complicated enigma that caused the deaths of some monks. The religious community was clouded in fear, reduced to whispers, naming the library labyrinth as the cause.

Despereaux was not your average mouse. Unlike the others, he had a peculiar interest in literature, especially tales of chivalry and valor that humans loved to write so much. It was titled 'The Adventures of Sir Galahad', a name he had not heard before. Intrigued, Despereaux spent countless hours reading about the brave knight, his silver armor gleaming under the sun, and his kind heart winning over enemies. Galahad quickly became Despereaux's new hero, his dreams filled with rescue missions and daring adventures.
