Stepan, the lighter but nonetheless intricate character in Leo Tolstoy's 'Anna Karenina', was a man torn within himself. He held an unusual duality - a corrosive lifestyle clashing with a heart capable of immense love and loyalty. On this chilly Muscovite evening, he walks towards the railway station, awaiting the arrival of the doomed lover, Anna. Oblonsky, a man of charm and charisma, was distraught, understanding the societal consequences that were to follow. He sighed, watching the steam from his breath dissolve into the cold air.
