In the shroud of night, the town of Woking was once again under siege. The metallic creatures from Mars, a haunting vision of H.G. Wells’ prophetic mind, were unleashing hell. This tale, spun from the threads of 'The War of the Worlds', is a glimpse into the secondary wave of Martian invasion.

Rain was relentlessly assaulting the earth, the rat-tat-tat of water droplets against the windows like a dystopian soundtrack to our reality. It was a grim and yet comforting notion, a reminder that nature continued on, oblivious and unaffected by our societal decay. I sat by the window, the crimson cloak of my attire a stark contrast to the oppressive grey buildings outside. As a Handmaid under Gilead, this cloak was the emblem of my shackles, an obvious label for my role in this new order.

The cold wind whispered through the narrow streets of Copenhagen, filled with an eerie silence. The unending struggle against the Nazis had left its imprints everywhere in the form of deserted houses and fear-soaked eyes. Amidst this chaos, lived the Johansen family.
